I was actively involved in the development of Smalltalk technology and its commercialization from 1980 through the final implosion of the commercial Smalltalk market in 1997. I have a huge archive of Smalltalk materials. Occasionally as I run across something of interest I’ll post it here.
Technical Material
- Efficient Implementation of Smalltalk Block Returns
- Smalltalk/V Exception Handling Proposal This is the original proposal for what ultimately became the standard Smalltalk exception handling system.
- A Declarative Model for Defining Smalltalk Programs This is the paper that was written to accompany my OOPSLA’96 invited talk. It was supposed to be in the OOPSLA Companion but they didn’t publish one that year. The slides for the talk give more details than the paper about what we had actually built.
All see my Publications page for my Smalltalk-related refereed papers.
